One of them is playing a cowbell, I can't see anything played with the hands so I can only assume that there is a pedal(left foot?) going on somewhere?

on the contrary, i think steve gadd AND dave weckl kicked some pretty hard ass and grooved with the...well, groove :) vinnie is the very skilled robot here.

I agree though. I think Steve Gadd did some great stuff because he actually created some nice grooves in there and that felt a lot more like drumming. The other two were bashing away like robots, all be it very skilled robots...

I think his was the only listenable performance. He comes up with some great grooves. The other drummers seem more like athletes than musicians.

oh ok this is probaly the best druming in a long tme i mena iv been playing fr about 3 and half years and solos are so different all the time saying there hitting drums is just... wrong cause that probaly takes years actually i know for a fact it takes yeras i dont mean to be rude and i know its your opioion but thats all lot more then hitting "drums" its the most complicated theing i have ever heard all thos 16th notes triplet fills god he list goes on!

i respect the roots and drummers of jazz and i really don't mean to be rude but i just don't feel that this is good drumming. i just think that a solo should be considered more than just hitting on different drums. (although the last one was pretty good)
again, i don't mean to be rude just my opinion

Now that is what I call Drumming. I hate how everyone is all about speed. Speed is nice, but rhythmn is a very important factor. Anybody can just sit down and learn to play fast. These guys definitely have both. 2 thumbs up to them! AMAZING!

Pfff, I don't think that jordison has half of the skill one of these guys have. The guy doesn't have enough skill to be as respected as Colaiuta, Weckl and Gadd. There's more than just speed here, most people don't get it.

Why are so many people (probably young people) hung up on the looks? Good Lord, is was almost 20 years ago. This look was cool in 1989 when this was filmed.

THIS IS some of the best drumming I've ever seen.... The second guy could run circles around neil pert.... but you must say, the intro that the 3rd. guy did on his snare drum was straight up simply tite..... Bravo to all threee... props to the speed of man #2.....
