It's not sissy at all to play violin. Now viola, that's sissy. :) Actually, I play viola, and I've noticed that except with instruments such as viola, harp, or flute, the majority of instruments are not dominated by any one gender. And this coming from a metal head too.

Pfft! If you want to play violin, go for it! Next time someone says it's 'sissy' for guys to play violin, go tell them to look up Itzak Perlman, or Joshua Bell. Actually, there are a LOT of male violinists. So, don't give them a second thought. Besides, who cares what they think?

i spend 6 1/2 years in the military. I went through some of the thoughest schools in the military, including survival school (S.E.R.E). For the last 3 years I was in I was a military cop. Now I guard a nuclear power plant. I haven't ever had a job where I didn't carry a gun. I love beer, women, football and hockey. I am an all around man that's far from being labeled a "sissy" and I would love to learn the violin and piano as well. Follow your own heart and inspire others to follow.

This is the most beautiful song for violin ever performed; it is simple but magnificent gently, intense and lovely. This is too much perfection, to much care, too much talent given to you like an eruption of love...Anyone can get inspired to play the violin if listen to this, these notes go beyond all our gender and culture prejudices

NOT sissy. See, most of the orchestra players and virtuosos are male. (ooh i'm dejected XD) See Milstein, Perlman and Heifetz for example. And they're NOT sissy.

don't believe those stereotypes. you know if you really want to play the violin, go for it. don't mind those hearsays. you'll never know if you're destined to beacome one of those world-class violinists. just give it a try. =)

there's nothing wrong in giving care to inanimate objects especially if it has great sentimental value and if you really love using it. i even polish it once in a while. that's how i love mine.

Don't listen to them, if you find that you really want to play the violin, then do. Many of the great violinists were male.

NOT crazy. i talk to my violin in the mornings, evenings, nights, when i'm happy, sad, dejected, lonely and all. and I caress it like she's my lover. euuuuuw, don't you think? hahahah!
