Another clip of me playing Chopin's Nocturne in E flat Major. This recording is somewhat better, I wasn't as nervous and paced myself better. Also, there are far less screw-ups than the previous version. Still, the camera makes me nervous, lol. Again, I've only been playing 1.5 years and working on this piece for a little over a month. Dont mind the part after 3:08, I'm still learning it! Thanks for your input guys!

I wish I could play it that good, I can only play the right hand melody and that is mostly while playing along with Rachel (yw1935)I just play for the fun of it though.

Exactly!! This needs to sound like a nocturne, but it sounds nothing like it. But don't be afraid to criticise. It is how we learn from mistakes.

very nicely played, technically fine, but you play with a bit too much structure and statelyness.
the nocturne is supposed to be romantic and with a singing style yet you play it as though your marching in a band, which i dont thing chopin intended.
in all im not critising your work, i liked the sound, but you need to find a balance between the left and right, and you need to find the inner romantic

this piece is a ternary abc form piece, tell me how it contrasts

I think your right hand needs to sing more, and try to play the left hand softer. The rubato is a bit too sudden. Try to "lean" into the rubato instead of suddenly pausing, or else the audience might think you forgot what's next.
