This recording was recorded in 1910. One of Elman's first recording session. What an attacking and bowing!

There are video clips of Elman out there, I just don't want to have to open a dozen non-video clips in order to find them. By all means post audio clips, but indicate it! Youtube is primarily a video resource.

Actually considering the age of this recording, this is surprisingly very high quality in clarity. That's what they call "masterfully remastered"

No you didn't waste anyone's time. You're doing a GREAT service to everyone by sharing. What happened is you disappointed zangdook who was wishing to SEE mischa elman in video. But hey, audio only is better than nothign at all! There are too few recordings of elman out there/on youtube.

Mr. Elman has so many different capabilities of producing sound on his violin. The different techniques that make different sounds, his control of the varying volume, tempo, his varying pressures which cause varying emphasis throughout the phrase, must show a putsuit of sound and not merely techniques. Despire the fuzziness the ummatchable sweet tone from his with the strings is clear.

Well, this is from an actual CD. However, it is considered "remastered," which means that the original recording was analog/vinyl/wax and was later digitalized. Anybody with analog recordings can actually make their own CDs now as long as you have the proper equipment.

Well, you have to remember just how old this recording is. I am not sure the exact date of this recording but it could have been in the 1910's or 1920's. That would probably account for the static.
