so i snuck into the university music hall and seized a piano. i gave a fake story that i was under the name of one of the professors and they bought it. i felt so bad though, i left :( havent been back since.
good balance between the melody line and the middle parts
brilliant. much nicer tonality on this piano than in the other video! perfect.
awesome man
I award this 3 GEORGES SANDS.A LOVELY UNWITT-ING REPRISE OF PADEREWSKI'S 1912 RECORDING OF THIS.HE GETS A QUALITY OF TRAGICALLY HESITANT-YET OPTIMISTIC TIDEPOOLS IN HIS PLAYING USING A LOVELY WAX AND WANE OF EFFECT BY FLEXIBLE TEMPO MARRIED TO DYNAMIC.
Muy bien tocado!!!
Forget overexpressive dynamics and progressions. The way you play is just incredibly warm and comforting.
Nice. Not too fast. Good interpretation. It would be nice, though, if you could post "Chopin Etude Op. 25 no. 5."
im working on this piece although piano isn't what im going to study in music uni , and i found this quite hard to play! but wow ... u play it so smoothly and it really sounds easy than it seems... Great job !
should compare with A. Rubinstein's version... then it van be clear that this version is still not better than Rubinstein's
NANNA NANNA BOO BOO
Beautiful musicality... Very very "singing" melodic line and natural breath. Careful! it seems you don't play the score at the end (one extra "big arpeggio" pattern and one "small arpeggio" lacking).
I will you little motherfuckin meatheaded shit suck.
Make me, nannananna boo boo.
You go hell, looser
great control...u study at roosevelt?? i have a friend named beilin studing for her dma in piano performance there!!
One of the best interpretations I've ever heard of the beautiful study. Messieurs, chapeaux bas !
The tempo is off; you lose.
beautiful tone and colour However, there are too much pause if you listen to the top line and it really breaks the phrase.
Very nice!
very beatiful played. And I really love this tempo!
i love this
that's a wonderful interpretation! not too fast as you can here it very often, but with a lot of feeling!
you doing great ithing you can give more music and you can do the best and the best ilove the music who came form the heart and irespect evry pianist who can thing with each notes and send massegs by his finger thanks friend and thanks chopin .
Man that's niceeee! How long have you been playing for ? What are you working on now ? Please check my videos thera sm Chopin too and i'd like to get some advises/comment ;) Tks!
Almost agree with Allegrissimo below, that it is one of your 3 best here at Youtube; and obliged my listening to all your other work too. For this Etude 25:1, probably it is the most beautiful version I have ever heard. Please visit my 50 Favourites.
I LOVE this piece!!! I first heard it used in an old Jodie Foster movie "Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane."
I'll tell you the truth... when I heard the first opening tempo, I was like wow this is super slow.... slowest I ever heard.... But then after listening to the first two measures I was amazed at the care that you put into the shaping and dynamics of the melody and not all the other notes! Very pretty playing Cambry
Beautiful! Personally I think this is the best you posted here on youtube, bravo!
An etude is a piece written for an instrument with the intention of emphasizing and forcing the musician to improve a certain technical aspect of their playing. Chopin's etudes accomplish this while still being able to stand alone as part of the pianist's concert repertoire.
Then whats the whole concept about etudes?
Opus is Latin for "work" and so a composer's works are listed by Opus number. Chopin's Op.25 is a collection of 12 etudes or "studies".
Man, that was beautiful! Great lyricism, wonderful phrasing, nice singing tone, delicate arpeggios...romantic playing of the highest order.
Op ---> Opus
What does Op mean? Whats the whole concept?
Much better than the last one. Great job it's beautiful. Do you play any jazz?
It's lovely... a bit slow to my tastes though, but that's just my opinion.
There isn't a single way to play the piece right. But there are many ways to play it wrong.
I am proud of you. This is the 1st video of yours where I felt that you dropped that fucking cool facade of yours and gave it up.Reminds me of Paderewski's great performance of this in 1912.This was poetic, lovely, heartfelt, meaningful, mysterious like a deep well...and god-given...nope,excuse me...YOU DID THIS!It is far better than the known Chopinists who are famous and twice your age.
shakaama, your telling him to play a certain way then when he gives you advice you say no you play for yourself. why can't you just enjoy music? Don't you think Cambry plays for himself? Everyone plays for themselves, and in which it can benefit other people.
I can onyl say a word: AWESOME!
what kind of music are you gonna upload from now on, if i may ask??
You are great. I would love to hear Opus 55 No 1. :)
Yeah I see what you mean, that's too bad but I think that if you have anything to show the community, why not show it? Would be an incredible feat for a user to upload all of the etudes to Youtube, show your mom she was wrong!
call me crazy but, i play for myself. I know i'm weird but so be it. I missed going on tour as a kid, wanted to be a concert pianist. my mother didn't even want me to play, and would chase me away from the piano from practicing as a kid. [ can you say scarred for life ]
ok, well maybe it isn't the speed, but the stintedness of it. the melodie is carried in the 4th or 5th finger in this pieace and ... I know you're not lizt or anything but if you could linger on the note a bit longer to tie it in to the next one, I think it'd be better. might be impossible, though.
Also if you play all of op 10 and 25 like me as well, you should upload some of your videos to be more of an asset to the community.
Thanks for advice that was actually constructive. Lots of people do not know what that means. I play it at this speed because I believe it should be played at this speed, I feel that the piece should breathe more. I know the piece blindfolded so i'm not actually working out fingering.
I actually play all of chopin's etudes op 10 and 25. I don't know if you're purposely trying to make the melody halting, but it comes across stinted. And, while i hate people who play over fast, i must say you played this a bit slow. you might still be working out the fingering or something. Overall a good performance though. Just too halted and slow for my tastes. try it faster, and bring out the melody even more while mellowing out the arpegio notes.
you're really good, you have that spirit in that playing that makes it captivating even hypnotising to listen to
