| I know its has been a year for responding to your message but I also have been thur to Northridge earthquake and i lived about 4 blocks away from CSUN. All i remember was when the heavy sonic boom and the next thing i knew the floor were trying to threw me off by up and downside motion for like 10 seconds. I was only 7 years old at that time. |

| There was an upward motion for a few seconds first,I remember an english man about fifty he was out for an early morning jog and going down an alleyway said the path seemed to lift up and then he was hit by the sideways motion he grabbed onto the wall and could see it waving like waves going through the surface-text book earthquake some said that upward motion gave them a few vital seconds to dive under a dresser or desk this building is fine but others are tilting or collapsing before the end |

| The Richter scale is a logarithmic scale. The earthquake here is a 7.2 which is about 200 stronger than the one we had in the UK. |
