Where are you from?

Im from Scotland, watch almost all the american sports and coach basketball.

Basketball and American Football in particular enjoy a large fan base in the UK, one which appears to be growing steadily.

aha45

Sports is serious business

AtomicDawg713

clay111: I think a very young Wayne Gretzky is the "ice hockey dude" at 3:18.

lukeallyn

It's Bo Kimble. His best friend and teammate Hank Gathers collapsed and died in the semi-final game of the WCC tournament. When LMU made it to the NCAA tourney, Bo Kimble shot his first free throw of every game with his left hand in memory of Hank. He was 3-3.

This video is awesome! Just looking at the expressions on everyones face in it shows how sports develop character. Each and every face shows passion and love for their sport. To bad these days it is rare to find those types of players in any sport. Now it's all about the money and the fame, not the love of the sport.

clay111

wat is 3.18?? ice hockey dude

Greatest thing I have ever watched

Guiseppe107

No chance, basketball like every single nation outside america is a minority niche game...its non competitive recreational pastime. China its table tennis and football...basketball wouldnt register and any Olympic event was only fleeting interest.

cjshortstufff

I know what BBC is. What does that have to do with anything.....

Frosty21JFK

BBC is the british broadcasting company lol

cjshortstufff

basketballs the most popular sport in china....

Slater071

True. BBC's greatest moments would feature...

Football - England winning World Cup
- Champions League Finals (Manchester United, Liverpool)
- F.A. Cup Finals
Rugby - England winning World Cup
- Barbarians greatest TRY ever
Cricket - Ashes
Tennis - Wimbledon
Golf - Faldo epic win vs Norman 1996 US Masters
Formula 1 - Nigel Mansell (8 other Brit champs)
Olympics - Stephen Redgrave 5 consecutive Gold
Boxing - Lewis, Calzaghe etc
Horse Racing - Red Rum
Then Snooker, Darts..minor games

stealthamo

That would be Bobby Knight's infamous chair throw from a college basketball game in the '80s. I think the game was Indiana vs. Perdue.

ManfredMitchum

I recognize that shot at 0:52, but I forget who's in it.

bigticket06

What is the man throwing at 03:23? Whatever it is, he throws it pretty well actually. Is it a sport? :S

cccolt008

charliemurphy1976

JagdPanther101

Who is the old man crying at about 3:46? I've been watching this vid for a couple years and can't figure it out. Thanks

nuttybuds

the best video ive seen in a while. this video replays some of the best moments in nfl history while showing some of the best athletes ever lived such as brett favre, john elway, tiger woods, babe ruth, dale earnhardt, muhammed ali, michael Jordan and so many more! if i cud give this vid 6 stars i wud. favorited

Guiseppe107

Yes, only people recognised in this vid by non americans would be Tennis, Golf and Boxing..the likes of Borg(Swe), Navratilova(Cze) and also Ali and Sampras. nfl Gridiron, basketball, baseball and Ice Hockey no-one watches outside US.

So a compilation by SKYSPORTS in UK would show many players in likes of Football (England winning World Cup), Rugby (England winning World Cup), Tennis (Federer..Nadal), Golf (Faldo epic win over Norman), Boxing (Lennox Lewis), Olympics (Redgrave's 5 Golds)..etc

dthon1

phillies26116

ErsatzXL

Thank you THANK YOU! I remember back when ESPN did this in dedication to 20th century sports. Way before they did Ultimate Highlights every week, this was very special, and I've wanted to see it again for nearly 9 years. I choked up a little when I saw Sweetness. This really is an awesome tribute to North American sports!

milesbaxendell

trashers4cashers

im not taking anything from that sport just during these times nobody in USA/Canada were able to watch it entensively on TV or in there city as a huge sport...no what i mean?

crespogod09

Yeah, that must be why it's the most popular sport in the world.

trashers4cashers

it wasn't even close to being recongnized yet as a sport this era in the us/canada

PinkTaco99

does anyone know where the montage for the special on espn special espn 25 then and now. the intro montage was one of the bests ever and I cant seem to find it anywhere

Slater071

The Gridiron, baseball and basketball players wouldnt be known outside the US...the only guys i recognise in this vid are two boxers.

Gridiron and baseball no-one plays or watches....while in terms of participation basketball outside US is a minority sport but no-one ever watches games.

Banger82

I've watched it 20 times and I still get the chills, so to answer you, it is no...
