well idk about u,but since all the pieces were setup like that and he was PLAYING the match.. (unless im an idiot and i got it all wrong, i think he was playing the match and it was setup the same way as in the match)..so he would remmeber most of the pieces because of concentrating on them so much.. at least thats what i do

Most GMs or IMs could memorise a position flawlessly in chess. These chess hustlers in NYC are really weak with regards to chess, something non-chess folks don't understand. It's a myth movies blow out of proportion.
