You can't blame the teachers. It is the parents. And it has nothing to do with race. There are lots of shitty parents of every color who don't give a crap what their kids are doing, and have no way to really support them. It is a wealth issue. It is a losing battle unfortunately. We have too many people withdrawing, and not enough people making deposits. Having children used to be financially beneficial, when we were an agrarian society. Not so today. The problem is NOT education.

And kids have no control over their own actions? They don't make their own choices? I agree that some parents often do not give kids the academic support they need. I also agree that some teachers do not give students the assistance they need. But that is not always the case. When they do not make the effort to come in for extra help, or don't even turn in their assignments, there's little to be done. At that point, it IS their fault.

Some parents don't seem to care as long as school gets the kids out of their hair and some teachers don't take the time to help out students, they just say pass or fail.
