Ah excellent, it shows that people have been listening to my sage and excellent advice - poor little people like bluebirjbirtb or whatever his name recognise my ultimate intellect and clear superiority. Why? Well, for starters, *I'm* better than *you* - oh yeah, you like that! MMMMSSSK MSSSSK MSSSK. (I win again - time to do the victory dance - do do dooo dod do do dooooo!)
try have a test where a semi hits that, fleshy pancankes any1. also what happens when a mosquito hits a smart car? the smart car explodes in a fiery explosion. the mospuitos is like "phew that was close good thing it was a smart car!"
Haha im not american but i bet if you were ever being attacked by any country, you will be calling to the americans for support. i bet you wont be saying everybody hate america then now will you
i agree amerika
stupid ameriKans, they tell you to buy a stupid truck good for nothing if you compare it with any other car made in europe, evribody hate you amerika!
that is because they are two completely different things. Weight / Size / Materials will not be exactly to scale.
What an ironic comment.
So if I throw a hot wheels car at a brick wall at 60 mph (a fairly conservative speed for a full size automobile) it won't be damaged very much? Hmm, someone please try this and post the video response.
hahahaha yea smarty pants u cant count 4 shit lol
you missed 4...
Fact #3. More people die in side impact crashes than in frontal or rear crashes. If you are in a heavy vehicle and get hit by an equally heavy vehicle, not only does the impact have to STOP the car hitting you, but it also has to START moving your car. His comment of "you'll be safer in a prius" does not apply for a side impact, where the higher mass of the prius works to the disadvantage to the passanger. Fact #5. The smaller the frame, the higher the structural integrity. IE: hotwheels.
Wow... A *LOT* of you commenters *NEED* to take a basic physics class to see that SMART is safer than it seems. Fact #1. It is not the G force of the car that is in question, but the total G force experienced by the PASSENGERS. Look up 5th gear's "volvo vs Peugot" and see how the smaller Peugot uses the Volvo's crumple zone to it's advantage. Fact #2. The smaller the vehicle, the stronger the frame. That's why heavy vehicles are death traps during side-impacts.
i hate this fucking little bumper car...
AGUANNNTAAA EL CARRITOO!!
this car is Mercedes-Benz engineered
First off, tiny little vehciles like this aren't meant to go on the highway and content with the f'n tank that we unnecessarily drive around in. I'm impressed though, that did really well. However, outside of the US, this is a non issue, vehicles here are HUGE, beyond reason, if people didn't drive around in 4,000lb vehicles for daily use, it would be a different story.
wow this vid was even sweeter! duude!
Fallen07skaters - your comment made me laugh so hard. I love your outlook.
how many people leaving comments about crashes have been in a smart car crash. probably none. so i think it would be best if we all just watch it and be like that was freaking sweet cause it was hardcore and we all know it
why are you picking yellow cars why not red or blue...??? whaat aare yoou tryinng to tell meeee!???!!??? whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyhh????!!!!!
shuuuuuut up! you are talking to much you monkey brain i want car crash!!
The Smart has a quite unique passenger security design. The side-impact usually is not that much of a problem, as the other car most likely hits one of the wheels that ditribute the energy into the frame structure. Other than other cars that are linger and have a kind of weak spot between the axles. In this particular Video, you can see the head of the dummy hit the side-airbag leaving red and yellow marks (e.g. at 5:22) They said "highest rating" - so what's the point arguing?
lmfao, am I the only one who noticed the head of the dummy slamming violently into the steering wheel? Umm...dead much? =P
Total fucking death trap. Look at the side impact again, the diver's head got creamed.
tell me.. who in their right mind would buy one of these death traps?! just think if you were in the smart going about 70 and you met the front end of a peterbilt. they would have to get a spatula to scrape you off the grill of the truck.
Id love to see one of my dads semis smash right into the side of that it would be a pulp compared to these unrealistic crash tests
egal von welcher seite der aufprall kommt... tot
天啊。 好可惜可惜
well if you hit another normal (not smart) car, driving the same speed and having double mass, you get double g-forces in smart car and you get half of g-forces on the other car, so the guy sitting in smart is minced meat and the guy sitting on the other car goes out, lights a cigarette and phonecalls for help.
that car would be gone uf a car going 79 mph
Wrong, all new Smart Cars have side airbags standard.
Yeah, rolling over in any car shouldn't hurt you too badly if you're wearing a seat belt. Since when does doing a cartwheel hurt? Besides, what about the internal damage? My mom rolled over in her Honda Element and had no scratches at all, and was even able to drive the car, but since she didn't wear her seatbelt she headbutt the ceiling and now has permanent nerve damage.
wow such a smart car :50 to :58 "although the dummy's head did strike the steering wheel hard through the airbag, overall we think the smart does a good job at protecting its occupants in this kind of crash" how safe! plus the engine is completely crushed into the leg area and the steering wheel would go through your chest.
my mother drive a smart 4/2 at work....one year ago she had an accident and roll over 3!!! times, and she get out of the car without any scratch....
rolling death coffin with 4 weels
lol fag car
I would never get one of these cars myself but I'm still impressed over how well it fared in the test considering it's size. Also, cars this size would be a SMART choice for inner city driving, like in those European cities with narrow streets etc, where you don't get up to high speeds. But not so smart if you were driving on the freeways and highways.
Whenever a LARTG particle A exerts a force on another SMALL particle B, B simultaneously EXPLODES! Drive smart not a SMART CAR!
Save a few buck in fuel cost but loose your life! What's so Smart about that? Don't be a dummy, drive a car of substantial size and safety ratings!
Is that the new sissy car, I mean SmartCar? lol
That car looks weird! I want something COOL! I am holding on to my Pontiac Grand Am!
I still want one. With a love for the tiny cars in the world, it obvious safety isn't your biggest concern. Whether you drive a Hummer or a Mini Cooper, no one is going out with intent of getting in a wreck, do drive something you enjoy. My 76 AMC Gremlin is a hoot, but still a little too big for my taste
Like driving a ping pong ball waiting to get slammed No Thanks
only thing i see in this car that i like is the racing style seats
dodge ram 1500 quad cab !!
listen...dont belive the hype with these smart cars..the gas mileage isnt as great as youd think, and regardless of what this crash test shows...THIS THIS WOULD FILP OVER NUUMEROUS TIMES, N BE THROWN LIKE A PEBBLE in an accident. I rather pay more for gas then more for my medical bills...Ill keep my guzzler!
hahaah 6mins?you're idiot you watch it till the end?GOOD JOB (Y)
Sadly not all Smarts have a side airbag. However, when you'll be bying your Smart, you wouldn't want to save on that option.
what is there to crush?
this video waisted 6minutes of my life...
