new drummer from robbie williams' old band. sick drummer, the only good thing to come from that camp. same way tyler hawkins came from alanis morrisette and now rocks with the legend mr. grohl himself.

Seriously, the new drummer touring with the band is hardcore. He pounds the skins like Dave Grohl. He does a stupid drumstick flip, but aside from that seems alright. Anyone have a live clip of this tune?

i agree and in my opinion none of the others beat zak starkey on the drums he is immense, but 14 years on top and still easily the best damn rock 'n' roll band

It's on the Definitely Maybe DVD. According to Noel, they couldn't nail the drums for Bring It On Down at Sawmills, so they hired a studio in London and got another drummer in. The sessioner couldn't get the pattern right either, so Bonehead had a word in Tony's ear and a fired-up McCarroll went in and got it right first time.
Noel, doubtless pissed off at the time and expense wasted, replied "You'll be on the fucking dole by Christmas, you will you blagging little cunt."

Tony McCarroll is shit, end of!! You can hear the difference on Whats The Story, Alan White is the alot better drummer and you can easily tell!! And then Zak Starkey smashes them both up lol, the drumming in DBTT and DUYS is immense. And then Chris who is on the tour is just as good, fuckin amazing live!! wow!!!

Tony was on the drums for this track.
The fall out stems from the drumming on Bring it on down which took Tony about a month to figure out.

w8 w8...tony wasnt a good drummer...and i think Noel played the drums here...im not sure so tell me if im wrong...Alan white is a way better drumer then tony so i find it good that he left no offense to you tony mccarol fans out there

I agree with you, he does get a raw deal. His drumming is perfectly acceptable (and here it's brilliant). I don't think he had much problem with Liam, but he and Noel had a falling out over distribution of money for equipment. Also, by all accounts he wasn't versatile enough (Noel played drums on Half The World Away for instance) and it took him an age to get the pattern right for Bring It On Down (they had to hire a session drummer and Tony only got it right when it defeated the sessioner).

Don't know why people criticize Tony. The drums on Definitely Maybe are first class. They're so good they actually draw attention to themselves. Just a clash of personalities in the band I think. Maybe he simply wasn't enough of a swaggering cock. Can you imagine being a shy lad, and having to deal with Liam? Fuck me...

Maybe it is. Perhaps Tony wasn't as shit as Noel said he was back in the day. OR... maybe it's Noel on the drums since he claims that he's the best drummer in the band... LoL.

Digsy's Dinner was what it was, and definitely maybe wouldn't of been quite the same without it. Noel knew it was shit, but that was the beauty of it.

I believe I can do it..been a great oasis fan 4 years, when i was at middle school. still love def.maybe & I know oasis've been important. But after that,listened to other stuff, "huge" music , p.floyd, zep, the who, the beatles, ELP, the stones, etc.., and other brit bands of the 80s and the 90s. I just got much more critical when listening these guys. And their plagiarism sometimes becomes a "dickbreak", as we say here..and in this case it is (and Standing Here is much better than this!)
