It's a late 1950s piece of library music, 'Sporting Occasion' by the Queen's Hall Light Orchestra. It's been used by the BBC at the end of Wimbledon transmissions from (I think) the early 60s, and it's still used occasionally today - but not every night as it used to be. It must be one of the longest running TV themes on UK TV.
