This is just too much for one to bear, the amount of beauty and emotion is too overwhelming, it's a sin....a sin to have both beauty and emotion present. I want to put my hands around my ears but I can't, my eyes tear up every time I hear this version played. OOooooooh god yes...if this is sin, I want it all!

it is a short version of the traditional Chinese robe. The long robe is wore around the late and well into the turn of the 19th century by the Chinese.

Piano is a very personal thing. Just like an opinion, everyone has there own interpretation. This man obviousloy has an outstanding techneique and 'personally' i adore his interpretation. This isnt to say everyone will. So how about we encouare rather than put down and let the man play because i gaurantee you this, none of you couold come close to this mans massive techneque.

I don't completely agree with you. I can see how someone wouldn't like movement like that but at the same time I find it adds to the performance. Every time I go to a symphony concert I love to look at the soloist's facial and body expressions. Sometimes you can literally see what they are trying to convey along with hearing it. It shows how much they love what they are doing. Plus, I couldn't possibly imagine Lang Lang staying dead still during an entire performance.

You know what the best part about music is?? You don't need your eyes to appreciate and enjoy it. Some people move and make funny faces, some tap their feet, but it is the sound they produce that truly matters and when it comes to sound Lang Lang does a superb job.

Lang Lang made a mistake playing this piece if you listen closely to bar 32 the left hand is completely wrong

I agree with this point, but with Lang Lang I am almost always able to overlook the motions. I figure that if they are aiding him in producing such music then they must be tolerated and accepted.

I wonder if he would still show that many movements while practicing on his own... I find them distracting (at worst), and would rather listen to the music on its own, which is fantastic.

I find this video facinating. Lang Lang's facial expressions and his sensitive approach to this nocturne make this video beautifully artistic and so very pleasing to the ear. His performance and interpretation of the music is wonderful. I simply love it.

It's not really that. When you play an instrument like this, it's like reading the most beautiful poem in the world. As you can see, this pianist has a very close emotional bond with his instrument. I, being a pianist understand this. It's not so much we like to make funny faces, we're just in love with the music.

I first heard this piece in the French film "Forever" about the cemetery Pere-Lachaise, and I fell in love with it. I now am learning it and looked it up here to hear it again, and it's just as beautiful to me as it was the first time I heard it. Very well done.

wonderful rendition A+++ .. it makes me happy that i will be playing this peice soon for Nyssma.. However the pianist shows too much emotion he is only soposed to play and let the audience interpet it, its distracting from the beautiful peice hes playing.. even still AWSOME RENDITION
