Carolyn and Rookie - an extraordinary tribute to the human/canine bond. What a team! Watching them together brought tears to my eyes. I'm so sorry for the loss of that wonderful dog! We will all have to meet over the Rainbow Bridge for more happy performances! My heart goes out to Carolyn ... may she dance once more.

One of the best partners I have ever seen...love was shown from her and him...God bless you in your loss.

This video makes me cry with joy at the bonding, hard work and loyalty so obvious between Carolyn and Rookie. They demonstrate the best kind of love! What a heartache to lose such a perfect companion. May there be peace over the Rainbow bridge. God bless you, Carolyn, and thank you for the glorious show.

I have a Golden "oldie" and though he doesn't share the same obvious talent as Rookie they do share the same ability to bring joy and laughter to my life daily. I watch this video often and the response of the crowd to Rookie and Carolyn always makes my heart skip a beat and tears come to my eyes from the shear joy of witnessing such a loving bond. Carolyn, Rookie was such a blessing to you, my prayers are with you during this difficult time. Rookie will be remembered with sincere adoration.

My heart goes out to you, Carolyn. Your bond with Rookie is powerful, beautiful and awe inspiring. I have a Golden puppy named Finn and he is just 10 months and I think of you when I dance with him while doing obedience practices at home. You've inspired and touched many including me who hope to one day participate in this awesome sport. Blessings and love to you! I hope to meet you one day. -Aiko in Columbus w/ her Golden Finnegan

Oh Carolyn...I am SO sorry. I have been so busy with our canine cancer walk that I haven't visited the Land of Pure Gold lately. :( While I know it's of no consolation, I know my Maggie has now learned where all the very best cookie trees are, after almost 6 months of being at the Bridge-and has found your sweet Rookie to show him around. Many sad tears...

amandalmacdonald

Its sad that he died :( but at the same time look how happy he was just performing there... he was definetly loved! Amazing video! I wish my dogs listened just a fraction as good as he must have to of learned that routiene.... absolutly amazing

Retrieverman1

He was on Pet Star with Mario Lopez a few years back, competing against a standard poodle and an otter. Too bad he didn't win, he was by far the best trained animal there.

I was sent this video at least 2 years ago and decided to watch it again today only to hear the sad news. What a beautiful relationship the two of you had. It's sad our beloved animal partners are with us for such a short time. But I truly believe we will see them ALL again. My thoughts and prayers to both of you.

It is so sad that Rookie lost his battle with cancer. I had the priviledge of meeting Carolyn during a seminar/workshop where we hosted her. I will never forget her introducing this wonderful sport to our kennel club. Carolyn our thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with you during this very sorrowful time in your life. We will all miss Rookie. You are blessed to have had such an amazing connection with an amazing dog.
