Actually it didn't "close the night it opened." I saw it twice when I was in NYC and it stayed open a few days longer then a month. It had it's flaws, but it was really something special. I am so glad to was able to see it. I'd rather see this show a million times then some of the stuff that lasts longer on BW.

The show sucked louder than the vampires. I felt sorry for the poor cast because THEY were working. But the lame score was vomit. And they didn't even follow the story in the novel "Lestat." The whole last act was "Interview" AGAIN.

You're rigth about Lestat ^^ But he doesn't have a rock song because when all the 70 years that happend on the play he wasn't a rock star yet... He becomes one like 200 years later ^^

I saw Lestat when it was on Broadway and this was the only song that left an impression on me. It's amazing. It makes me sad that there won't be a cast recording of this musical, but it's not surprising. If I remember right most of the songs were ballad like and this was the only song that got me riled(sp?) up. In the books (which I find boring but that's just my opinion) Lestat is a rock star and yet not a song rock song for him! What the hell, Elton. What the hell.
