**At school**
Nick: -Grabs joes shoulder and sniffs the air- you smell that? thats the smell of knowlegde, books, babes, and SOPHMORE YEAR BABY!
Joe: -smiles and looks in his locker- your a sophmore?! wow, KID.
Nick: Shut up!
Joe: -sees emma walking down the hallway-
Nick: -looks at what joe is looking at- here comes the ice princess back from...
Joe: -gives him a look- excuse you?
Nick: whatever! im out, see you later!
Emma: Joe! -hugs him- excited about senior year?!
Joe: deffinatly!
Emma: you doing football? because i am being a cheerleader!
Joe: a cheerleader huh? i thought you didnt like cheer?
Emma: i... uh... changed my mind!
Joe: -doent beleive her- okay...
Emma: -thinks how to change the subject- so there a new girl!
Joe: ya, so?
Emma: Her names Demi.
Joe: -a weird feeling rushes over him- oh, senior?
Emma: yep. all the way from Texas. shes suck a loser! -bell rings- well gota go. whats you first class?
Joe: -looks at his schedual- biology.
Emma: ME TOO! lets go! -holds his hand and walks to class.-
Joe: -opens the door for her- after you.
Emma: -dosen't even aknowlede joes politness- JAMIE!
Jamie: EMMA! -they hug- sit with me emms! -they sit-
Joe: -standing by the door-
Todd: JOE! -yelling from across the room- come sit with the COOL people over here! NOT THE UGLY NERDY, LOSERISH TYPE LIKE THE NEW GIRL!
Joe: -laughs- OKAY! i wouldn't want any ugly to rub off on me! -looks at demi, the new girl, who is sitting in the front corner desk-
Demi: -turns her head around with tears running down her cheeks and looks at joe. then turns back and cups her hands on her face and cries-
Joe: -sees her tears and stops laughing and goes and sits down-
Mr. Ling: CLASS! SETTLE DOWN! -sits in his chair by his desk- Okay, summers over, schools in. lets learn about you all. -looks at the class list- Todd Henry. your up first.
Todd: -stands- I AM QUARTERBAKC OF THE FOOTBALL TEAM! YEAAAAAA! -everyone cheers-
Mr. Ling: calm down class. Next is... Emma Watson.
Emma: -stands and blows a kiss at joe- well, i am the captain on the cheerleading squad! -cheerleaders cheer. looks at demi- AND I AM PRETTY! -everyone cheers-
Todd: maybe you can teach the NEW GIRL how to look hot!?!! -people laugh-
Eric: MORE LIKE NEW GOAT! -laughing gets louder-
Mr. Ling: Todd! Eric! Office! Now!
Emma: But Mr. Ling! they were just being honest!
Mr. Ling: YOU TOO EMMA!
-all three leave the class-
Mr. Ling: okay, maybe this getting to know each other thing was now my best idea... -bell rings- OKAY see you tomorrow class, and tonights assignment is to write about yourself. sounds concided, i know but what i say goes! -class leaves-
**AT LUNCH**
Joe: -finds demi sitting alone and sits next to her- Hey! -opens his milk-
Demi: -wipes the tears off her face quickly- What?! came to remind me that i am ugly? you dont want to stay long!
Joe: why dont i want to stay long?
Demi: -looks him in the eyes. when their eyes meet, a bolt of odd energy runs through both of them- wow...
Joe: Did you-
Demi: Feel that? Yes, and now i think you should just... just leave. -looks down at her notebook-
Joe: -lying- i dont have any other friends in this lunch!
Demi: -raises her eyebrows- reeeeealy?
Joe: Yup.
Demi: Well, theres Todd and Eric and the "jocks" sitting over there. -points to them-
Joe: uhh... i use them!
Demi: why are you so desprate to sit with me? i mean, less than an hour ago you were laughing and cracking jokes on me.
Joe: -trying to think what to say- do you want me to be honest with you?
Demi: -sarcastic- no i want you to lie. OF COURSE I WANT THE TRUTH!
Joe: *thinking- just tell her you feel like you know her... just say that she looks familiar!* um...-gets really nervous- i want to read your homework! -grabs her notebook-
Demi: NO! thats my autobiography for biology! -tries to grab it-
Joe: just let me read it!
Demi: you'll ruin it!
Joe: No i wont! -looks at her- i promise.
