Join us live from Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Capitol for America's biggest and best-loved birthday party: A Capitol Fourth 2007. This year veteran actor Tony Danza will host a star-studded show that will feature performances from some of the country's best known and award-winning musical artists including recording artist Elliott Yamin (American Idol), Grammy award-winning gospel legend Yolanda Adams, Tony award-winner Bebe Neuwirth (Chicago, Cheers), the king of Rock 'n' Roll Little Richard, country music sensation Dierks Bentley, and star of the hit series Heroes Hayden Panettiere with the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of top pops conductor Erich Kunzel.

The spectacular concert and show brings PBS viewers an unrivaled evening of patriotic and uplifting music followed by a stunning display of fireworks over the Washington Monument. The multi-award winning annual event will be broadcast live in high definition on PBS from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. ET (check local listings).

Capping off the show will be a rousing rendition of Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" complete with live cannon fire provided by the United States Army Presidential Salute Battery, an audience favorite and now A Capitol Fourth tradition. For more information, see http://www.pbs.org/capitolfourth/

Yes, the song is Russian, but it symbolizes INDEPENDENCE! And no, America does not "steal" everything from everyone else... it just seems that way because everyone else CAME TO AMERICA and brought with them there culture! It's amazing that the most powerful nation in the world is only a baby. However, it's not hard to understand that a nation who's people come from all over the world is THE WORLD LEADER!

i know you can barely even hear the cannon fire in the video and that's one of the coolest parts when you see it in person

I am singing with the Choral Arts Society of Washington for this. We had rehearsal this afternoon. This is going to be AMAZING!

If you want better effects, check out the one with authentic civil war cannon on here. The music is not as good, but the cannon and bell effects are significantly than the standard howtizer and orchestra chimes.
