WOW,wow, you should not be using syntetic oil yet, is way to early to use it, man you are not goint to let your bike brake in well wich is going to cost you some hose-power. not very smart!

Also, people posting that they dont go above 6k rpms at "any" time, you need to learn more about your engine. The 250 is a "High" rev engine, look at the tach. 12,500 red line is high. Ya'll are just bogging down you engine. 6k rpm or higher while riding is what you need to be at. You are not going to hurt these engines unless you neglect basic maintance. The old models did like to spit oil up the engine breather tube, up to the air filter box. Thats cause the crank moves so fast.

All engines run through a test at the factory before selling. Now if they change the oil after that (which you should since thats when all the "break in" material comes loose), which you should, I couldnt tell ya.

Break in on any engine is a very crucial phrase and if your going to disagree with that then your just stupid and should not own a motor vehicle. I've never owned a bike, but an engine is an engine for the most part. If you understand the full concepts you'll do fine. My comment on the 50 mile oil change is that I read that and I don't know really, I would follow the manual on that. But 500 ish miles yes Oil change on any new or rebuilt engine. It will insure the longevity of the motor.

I agree with what he is doing, a New Engine needs a Oil Change around the 500 mile mark. I've rebuilt sport car engines and broken in engine to know that. I'm about to buy a 250r as soon as the dealer gets one in. I've read and talk to a lot of old and experienced bikers and I still have not personally made my mind up on the break in.

im not a bike expert but arent oil filters supposed to catch the metal crap any one who says change the oil in the first 20 to 50 miles hasnt got a clue just read the manual it was writen by experts

The synthetic won't ruin the engine, but supposedly will not allow for a full engine break in which will lose you a few horsepower. In a bike with only 27 hp to start 3 hp would be a very noticeable difference.

I've done quite a bit of research on breaking in the engine for new bikes. The consensus seems to be that you should change the oil very early (like 20-50 miles). Most also say to wait until 1500 miles are on the bike to switch to synthetic. You might do good for your bike to do another oil change with non synthetic oil. You can keep the same filter in since you are not due for another oil change yet, just changing the oil so you can get a proper break in.

no way thats a lie! lol dont mean to come off as a jerk but i only got mine up 2 like 35 or so in 6th gear. not that i would keep it at 4k rpm all the time. hehe

nah man i just got mine brand new it will go like 55 at 4k rpm in 6th but its not realy that important to go that slow as long as ur not pinging out it all the time ull be good

how many rpms did you keep it at while breaking it in i have heard keep it at 4 grand but thats only 35 mph i guess i am getting mine in a few weeks same color

Do not switch to synthetic until your 3,000 mile oil change. sythetic works to well to obtain a proper break in.

You can buy magnetic camera mounts that you put on the tank. Not sure where you can get them from in the USA I know they are £25 in the U.K Its like a camera tripod but with magnetic feet

drained the oil first then after the majority of the oil was out then took the filter of yes. then let it train on its stand for about a half and then straight up and down for five. then finished it.

i wouldn't have put synthetic in it yet...not till at least 4-5 thousand miles. the engine is still breaking in and seating. synthetic is too slick for break in and the rings won't seat correctly or ever seat. at 500 miles the engine is only about 90% brike in and about 95% broke in at 1k miles.

You changed the oil at about the right time. On a new bike its supposed to be roughly 600miles. And theres nothing wrong with using synthetic oil before 10000miles. Think how long it would take you to do 10k. Thanks for the video

I havee done variable speed. Put heavy and light load on it, uphill, downhill, shifted heavy and soft through every gear. The engine is wore in, the amount of metal flakes was wild. I am going to change the oil again in about five hundred miles.
